Strong Kids

We’re proud to ensure that the YMCA is accessible to everyone, and we never want anyone to be turned away for an inability to pay. Don’t hesitate to ask about financial assistance for programs or membership. We’re happy to help. We’re able to open the doors to all thanks to a community of generous supporters of our annual Strong Kids Campaign. Contributions to Strong Kids enables us to offer a number of our programs and services to make assistance available to make participation affordable. The Y is more than a membership card. We’re bigger than the programs we offer in our facility or around the community. Will you help us as a donor or volunteer fund-raiser to ensure that everyone can be a part of the Y?

Our Y recognizes individuals who make commitments to the YMCA’s Endowment Fund through membership in The Heritage Club. To become a member, simply remember us in your estate, or make a minimum contribution of $1,000 to the YMCA’s Endowment Fund.

DOLLARS AT WORK

Thanks to your investments, our YMCA is able to address some of the community’s most pressing issues - from childhood obesity to high school graduation rates. 100% of your dollars go to those who need us most!

$40 = Swim Lessons An opportunity for a child to learn a valuable life-saving skill and a life-long, healthy activity.

$75 = Family Membership Provides a one month membership for a family to learn about health and wellness and to spend family time together.

$100 = Youth Sports The chance for a child to build confidence, learn skills and make new friends in a fun-filled, challenging season.

$125 = Summer Day Camp A fun-filled week of exciting activities and character development for a child.

$1,000 = YMCA After School One year of recreation, role models and homework assistance for a child.

CENTER STAGE

Early Learning Readiness We engage nearly 9 million children annually to give them the best possible chance to learn and reach their full potential. Our goal is to close the achievement gap for children and young adults in communities nationwide. We work to get toddlers on the road to learning and keep young adults on a path to academic and career success. Just a few of the highlights are as follows.

Provides caregivers with support and tools to enhance their role in children's cognitive and emotional development
Gives children the skills they'll need to succeed in elementary school
Improves children's social-emotional skills which are critical for success in classroom and careers

Healthier Communities Initiatives We've made system, policy and environmental changes to help more than 65 million people lead more healthy lives. The Y is more than a place to get physically active, it's a driving force behind living a healthy and full life. We work with communities to create community gardens, ensure that farmers markets are accessible, provide nutrition counseling, help children have a safe route to school and so much more. Just a few of the highlights are as follows.

Helps families put nutritious food on the table by bringing farmers markets to neighborhoods where healthy food options are scarce
Keeps kids healthier by working with schools to increase physical education and physical activity during the school day
Provides diabetes prevention training
Nurturing Potential of today's youth

Summer Food Program Our social services and food programs help more than 10,000 communities nationwide. As one of the nation's leading nonprofit organizations we see neighbors helping neighbors every day. From providing food, supplies and counseling when disaster strikes, to establishing recycling and sustainability programs, every effort is welcome and makes a difference. Just a few of the highlights are as follows.

Provides 4 million nutritious meals and snacks to 100,000 kids and teens
Fights hunger in nearly 800 sites across the nation
Keeps bodies and minds active with recreational and learning activities
