At the Y, swimming is a life skill. Our swim lessons prepare people of all ages to stay safe and have fun in the water, building strong and confident swimmers. Listed below are the descriptions for our lesson stages. Tuesday Lessons:
4:30-5:15pm Preschool 1/2, School Age 1/2
5:15-6:00pm Preschool 3/4, School Age 1/2, School Age 3/4
6:00-6:45pm School Age 5/6 (paused for the summer)
Thursday Lessons:
4:30-5:15pm Preschool 3/4, School Age 1/2
5:15-6:00pm Preschool 1/2
Saturday Lessons
9:00-9:30am Parent & Child A/B
Fees: All Preschool and School Age classes $28 – Members, $40 – Non-Members; Parent/Child Class $24 – Members, $36 – Non-Members
Ages 5-13+
Students build confidence, cultivate their passion, and stay active through specialized tracks.
Recreation:
Endurance, Sports, & Games (age 6+, Stage 4 and above)
Member $28, Non-member $40
An advanced class for swimmers meeting the requirements for our Stage 4 and above. Swimmers will warm-up with some endurance swimming and learn skills in areas such as snorkeling, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming. Mask and snorkel not required, but encouraged to bring your own.
Spring class only. Check back for class availability.
Competition:
Winter and Summer Danville YMCA Dolphins Swim Team. The winter swim team starts the end of September and runs through mid-March. Summer season is open to non-members and runs from mid-May through mid-July. Check out our Swim Team section for more information.
Leadership:
Lifeguarding classes are offered throughout the year, as well as First Aid and CPR. Please look at our Lifeguarding section for more information on when our next class is available.
